Czech manufacturer of soil and meadow technology, SMS CZ s.r.o., has launched the new generation of the ONTARIO disc cultivator this year. The new product will be presented together with three other machines at SIMA 2022 in Paris. The Czech brand will be presented in Paris under a new logo, which has been prepared for its 30th anniversary.
"The visible innovation of the Ontario 500 and 600 is that it has an integrated axle between the front two rows of discs and the rear cylinder. The resulting machine is shorter and with better manoeuvrability. By placing the axle in the middle of the machine, the cultivator is also more efficiently loaded, which in turn has a positive impact on even tillage," says Petr Jirsa, Managing Director of SMS CZ s.r.o.
In addition, the innovative design with the centre of gravity closer to the drawbar prevents the machine from swaying at higher working speeds and leads to an even working depth. The free space between the disc section and the rollers then eliminates clogging of the machine.
The new ONTARIO has a hydraulically folded, semi-supported, 2-part frame. The machine is equipped with two rows of discs with a diameter of 510 mm as standard, on request the sub-counter can be equipped with discs with a diameter of up to 560 mm. The discs are mounted on maintenance-free bearings and strength skids elastically secured by rubber silent blocks. With the help of clips it is possible to adjust the working depth of the Ontario up to 12 cm. The wide support wheels are also suitable for soft or waterlogged ground. The basic equipment of the machine includes a braked axle, lights and side deflectors, which catch the material from the edge disc and thus evenly process the field. A tow vehicle with a minimum of 200 horsepower is required to operate the machine.
The new generation ONTARIO, specifically the ONTARIO 300, will be presented to the French audience at SIMA 2022 in Paris. On stand 5a E096, it will be on display with three other machines - the ATOS 300 radial cultivator, the SMART 300 multi-purpose drill and the TERAN 300 N, a carried roller popular with farmers.
"At the fair we want to approach and establish cooperation with French agricultural equipment dealers and thus strengthen our business network in the country. We see SIMA as an excellent opportunity to introduce the brand and the company," says Jirsa.
30 years on the market
On 1 January 2023, the Czech company will celebrate 30 years of its existence and will start the anniversary celebrations at the Paris trade fair, where it will be presented to the public under a new logo.
"The aim was to modernise the existing visual identity to match current trends and marketing needs, but also to reflect better who we are. Specifically, that we develop and manufacture agricultural machinery and incinerators. I personally like the new concept. We've managed to incorporate a statement of movement and dynamics, emphasising the fact that we are always focusing on development and innovation and looking ahead," says Jirsa.
In the coming weeks, the new identity will be incorporated into other areas and the partners and the public will start to see the new logo and concept at trade fairs, on machines, on the web, in press materials and elsewhere.
"We are also thinking of farmers and are preparing the launch of the new Finisher for them next spring as a gift to mark our anniversary. We will reveal more about the machine when the time is right," adds Jirsa.
